Milestones
The core of the program. Rover Scouts participate, assist and lead activities from Challenge Areas as part of the unit program to progress this three stage badge.
This badge is the structure of the unit program and encourages an engaged unit
Milestone 1
- Participate in 6 activities from each Challenge Area.
- Assist in 2 activities or more across 2 Challenge Areas.
- Lead 1 activity from any Challenge Area.
Milestone 2
- Participate in 5 activities from each Challenge Area.
- Assist in 3 activities or more across 2 Challenge Areas.
- Lead 2 activity from any Challenge Area.
Milestone 3
- Participate in 4 activities from each Challenge Area.
- Assist in 4 activities or more across 2 Challenge Areas.
- Lead 4 activity from any Challenge Area.
Special Interest Areas (SIA)
Rover Scouts explore existing and find new interests across six separate categories including
These SIAs takes 18 hours to complete as a Rover Scout, using the structure of Plan>Do>Review
Special Interest Areas help to allow Rover Scouts to develop and follow interests as well as learning many new things, in turn developing their SPICES
Outdoor Adventure Skills (OAS)
These badges show a Rover Scouts progression through the 8 stages of outdoor adventurous activities. Learning key skills, knowledge and giving these activities a go.
OAS is separated into two categories; Core Skills and Specialist Skills, where there are plenty of adventurous activities to choose from.
